This informal series is designed to be a discussion between human resource representatives and is facilitated by a human resource professional.

| Topic description: According to the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were more than 63,000 drug overdose deaths in the United States in 2016, with over two-thirds linked to opioid use. As the opioid epidemic continues to grow, employers are struggling to strike a balance between managing the workplace and supporting employees dealing with substance abuse. This session will address the catastrophic trend of opioid addiction, its effect on the workplace, and how the problem of substance abuse intersects with employment law. |
