Join the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce and Employers Council
for a series focused on Human Resources. Each seminar will have a different topic ranging from hiring practices, social media, legal issues today and more. This informal series is designed to be a discussion between human resource representatives and is facilitated by a human resource professional.

Topic description:This seminar will provide a broad overview and discussion of the current mistakes an employer can make throughout the multiple stages of employment and will provide tips to avoid any potential resultant litigation. The topics that will be covered are recent trends in: (i) hiring/firing; (ii) supervising, managing, and disciplining employees; (iii) handling leaves of absences and avoiding the pitfalls related thereto; (iv) cultivating a workplace of respect and managing employee relations issues in today’s climate; and (v) discussing the ethical considerations in the work environment. While all of these topics could take weeks (if not months) to cover, this seminar is intended to provide an update on current trends and help employers to spot issues and engage in preventative measures prior to larger problems arising.
