Over the past 22 years\, the Council has inducted 122 past and present Scottsdale leaders and 22 organizations into Scottsdale's History Hall of Fame. Inductees have contributed immeasurably to the rich heritage of Scottsdale\, dating back to its modern-day founding in 1888 by Army Chaplain Winfield Scott. Join the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce to honor the people and organizations who have contributed so greatly to the legacy of the city of Scottsdale. She's restored many forgotten areas of Scottsdale history\, and helped businesses and organizations preserve and celebrate their legacies.  She's also served on many Scottsdale non-profit boards and city commissions\, championing preservation\, human services and history.\n		\n		\n			 \n			 \n			 \n		\n		\n			\n			 \n			Rachel Sacco-  For 30 years\, Rachel Sacco has been the heart and soul of Scottsdale's hospitality industry as head of Scottsdale's Convention & Visitors Bureau. Through her leadership\, trend-watching and collaborations with neighboring communities\, millions of visitors have created billions of dollars of economic impact throughout the Scottsdale area. She has mentored many tourism leaders\, and served on regional and national tourism boards.\n		\n		\n			 \n			 \n			 \n		\n		\n			 \n			 \n			 \n		\n		\n			 \n			 \n		\n	\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n		\n			 \n			 \n			Fred Unger-  Specializing in restoring\, developing and managing Scottsdale area signature real estate properties\, Fred Unger turned the historic Hermosa Inn and Royal Palms into renowned boutique resorts. His Southbridge development transformed the Arizona Canal area of downtown Scottsdale into a popular dining\, shopping\, event and residential destination. He has tirelessly promoted downtown Scottsdale\, especially the arts district.\n		\n		\n			 \n			 \n			 \n		\n		\n			\n			 \n			Barrett-Jackson Auction Company- Since its founding in 1971 in Scottsdale\, the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction has become one of Scottsdale's signature winter season events.  The company and its event have generated tens of millions of dollars in economic impact for Scottsdale\, is a major tourism draw and reaches an international television audience. It has benefited numerous Scottsdale area charities focusing on youth\, cancer research and other causes.\n		\n		\n			 \n			 \n			 \n		\n		\n			\n			 \n			Scottsdale Sister Cities Association - Beginning with a partnership with Alamos\, Mexico in 1968\, and the non-profit Scottsdale Sister Cities Association now has seven Sister Cities around the globe. The all-volunteer organization hosts student exchanges\, arts and cultural exhibits\, businesses\, sports and medical exchanges and other programs. Their mission is to promote peace through mutual respect\, understanding and cooperation among people of all nations\, one individual\, one community at a time.\n		\n		\n			 \n			 \n			 \n		\n		\n			 \n			 \n			In addition to the five inductees into Scottsdale's History Hall of Fame\, Leslie Nyquist will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Mrs. Nyquist served as the office manager and executive assistant to the President/CEO of the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce from 1973 to 2014. During her 42 year tenure at the chamber of commerce\, she superbly organized the annual Scottsdale?s History Hall of Fame since its inception in 1994.
