SUMMARY:ProWomen Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Hungry for inspiration . . . .Join us for lunch! ProWomen Luncheon feeds the mind and the spirit! October featured guest: Hope H. OzerFounder & PublisherTheTatumSunTimes About the speaker: Hope H. Ozer is the founder and publisher of TheTatumSunTimes\, a niche market community newspaper serving Kierland\, Desert Ridge and communities throughout the Tatum Corridor. Now in it’s third year\, the periodical has a circulation of 30\,000. Hope has exhibited a tenacious commitment to the community in a broad spectrum of roles since her arrival in the Valley twenty years ago. She has held leadership positions in Scottsdale school organizations\, school bond and override election teams\, district and statewide education arenas. Hope has trained Scottsdale parents in advocacy to improve their communication with legislators\, and has held government appointments including the Maricopa County Planning and Zoning Commission and the Phoenix Commission of Arts and Culture. She currently serves the community in several capacities including the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation and as a member of the Town of Paradise Valley Board of Adjustment\, having been reappointed for six consecutive\, three-year terms\, serving as its chair numerable times. Hope serves on the Steering Committee for ArizonaPolicyNetwork and as a judge for the ariZoni Theatre Awards of Excellence. She is a graduate of the FBI Citizens’ Academy and of Scottsdale Leadership Class III. Hope was named the “1997 Community Arts Volunteer of the Year” by Business Volunteers for the Arts and was presented with the “Hon Kachina Award” in 1999. Having devoted thirteen years as board founder and chair\, Hope serves as chair emeritus of Valley Youth Theatre. Her commitment to youth and perseverance in the face of all odds is exhibited by being the driving force in the development of this well established\, highly respected\, fiscally sound\, growing organization for the youth of today and tomorrow. Over the years\, Hope has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and in-kind to support this community asset. At a time when community support for most arts groups has diminished\, she continues to obtain commitments to ensure its ongoing viability. If there was ever an organization that reflects the will\, charisma and soul of its founder\, VYT is that organization. She is married to Jay S. Ozer . Her daughter Courtney Ozer DeCristofaro\, is a graduate of New York University and Georgetown University Law College. She practices law and resides in New York City with her husband\, James. proudly sponsored by:
