This will be an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience with the Scottsdale Police Department at the all-new, state-of-the-art Hontz Training Facility. Learn firsthand how one of America’s safest cities operates through interactive demonstrations and presentations. Space is limited and registration is required.

About the Thomas A. Hontz Police/Fire Training Facility
The Thomas A. Hontz Training Facility represents a landmark investment in the safety and preparedness of the Scottsdale community. Located east of Miller Road in Tempe, just south of Scottsdale city limits, this state-of-the-art complex serves as a unified training hub for both the Scottsdale Fire and Police Departments. Fire training capabilities include a four-to-five-story burn tower, a one-to-three-story basic skills building designed in a strip mall concept, and an expansive outdoor skills area featuring hazardous materials, technical rescue, firefighting, and aircraft rescue props. An 8,000-to-10,000-square-foot support building rounds out the fire training campus, housing a large conference room, breakout rooms, locker rooms, a fitness center, administrative offices, a full kitchen, and two apparatus bays. On the law enforcement side, the facility features a comprehensive renovation of the existing 36,000-square-foot structure, including upgraded classrooms, a break room, a weapons cleaning area, and a defensive tactics training space, along with a newly constructed 9,000-square-foot precast shooting range and an expanded fitness room. Site enhancements include an enlarged parking lot, new steel canopies, and refreshed landscaping. Now fully operational, the Thomas A. Hontz Training Facility stands as a modern, purpose-built environment where firefighters and police officers can sharpen their skills, refine emergency response techniques, and continue their commitment to keeping Scottsdale safe.
