Staff Accountant

General Statement:
The Staff Accountant will assist with month-end financial close and related account reconciliations. This position will assist with monthly revenue entries and serve as backup to both Accounting Specialist positions as needed.
Essential Duties:
- Provide quality guest service to both internal and external guests by maintaining a WILD (friendly, helpful, positive, and professional) working attitude and appearance.
- Responsible for preparation of various journal entries, maintaining proper cut-off, and completion of month-end checklist related to month/year-end close.
- Responsible for preparing and/or reviewing assigned monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Assist with revenue entries from various points of sale.
- Update the ACH log daily and enter bank adjustments in NXT.
- Record internal event credit card payments and prepare monthly event distribution entries to recognize deferred revenue, as well as maintain the deferred events reconciliation.
- Monitor chargebacks and gather information for disputes when appropriate.
- Serve as backup to both Accounting Specialist positions and provide support in the cash room as needed during MIMO repairs/cleanings and assist with preparing Zoolights sets of cash bags.
- Responsible for preparing audit support for all balance sheet accounts maintained during the year.
- Prepare various music rights reporting throughout the year.
- Assist with school contract renewals.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in general accounting, particularly with various reconciliations.
- Degree in Accounting, knowledge of tax-exempt guidelines, GAAP reporting, with competency in a variety of business software packages. Blackbaud NXT and Salesforce software experience preferred.
- Strong accounting, analytic, and communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel
- Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects at one time
- Detail-oriented with strong self-review skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to work independently and suggest process improvements
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug test.
