WHAT:
Salt River Project (SRP), in partnership with Trees Matter, is offering eligible customers up to two free desert-adapted shade trees to help lower cooling costs, improve air quality, and support sustainability in the Valley.
Strategically planted shade trees can reduce energy use by up to 25% by lowering indoor temperatures. They also help combat the urban heat island effect and support local biodiversity.
WHEN/WHERE:
Customers must attend a free virtual workshop, available in English and Spanish, to learn how to select, plant, and care for their trees. After attending, participants can pick up two tree saplings (2–6 feet tall) at a designated event in the fall.
Customers can attend one of the following virtual workshops:
- Saturday, June 28 at 10 a.m.
- Thursday, July 24 at 12 p.m.
- Saturday, August 23 at 10 a.m.
