SCOTTSDALE, AZ – (February 25, 2026) – Telefèric Barcelona, the authentic Barcelona-born tapas restaurant group beloved for its lively atmosphere and Spanish cuisine, has officially opened in Scottsdale Fashion Square. The new restaurant marks the brand’s seventh location and its first outside of California, bringing the flavors, culture, and celebratory spirit of Spain to Arizona for the first time. The Scottsdale location will also introduce exclusive offerings unique to the location, including “Brunchelona,” the brand’s first-ever brunch experience, alongside a new entertainment concept that fuses Barcelona’s lively spirit with Scottsdale’s upscale, vibrant social scene.

Founded in 1992 by Spanish siblings Maria and Xavi Padrosa, Telefèric Barcelona has spent more than three decades sharing Spain’s rich culinary traditions, and since opening its first U.S. restaurant in Walnut Creek in 2015, the family-owned group has built a loyal following across California. Now, as the brand celebrates its 10th anniversary in the United States, it enters an exciting new chapter with its expansion into Scottsdale.

A TASTE OF BARCELONA
Rooted in Spanish culinary tradition and designed for gathering, Telefèric Barcelona’s menu centers on vibrant tapas and signature, authentic paellas meant to be shared. Standout dishes include patatas bravas, jamón ibérico de bellota, gambas al ajillo, pulpo Telefèric with truffle and pimentón purée, and creamy croquetas filled with jamón or king crab.

At the heart of the experience are Telefèric’s celebrated paellas, prepared to order and served with socarrat: the prized crispy rice layer at the bottom of the pan. From the traditional Paella Mixta to squid-ink Paella Negra and seafood-forward specialties, each reflects the diversity of Spain’s coastal and regional cuisines. To maintain authenticity, key ingredients are imported directly from Spain, and Spanish chefs help lead the culinary program.

The beverage menu complements the cuisine with Spanish-inspired craft cocktails, an extensive gin & tonic selection, fresh sangrías, and a curated list of more than 100 Spanish wines from Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Priorat, Rías Baixas and beyond.

MEDITERRANEAN DESIGN MEETS SCOTTSDALE ENERGY
Designed by Co-Founder Maria Padrosa, the Scottsdale space pairs Mediterranean-inspired textures with a modern, energetic atmosphere. Guests can dine indoors or on the outdoor patio, creating a flexible setting that transitions seamlessly from relaxed lunches to vibrant evenings. A lively open kitchen and signature paella station anchor the dining room, offering a front-row view as chefs prepare dishes over open flame.

SCOTTSDALE-EXCLUSIVE EXPERIENCES
With its Arizona debut, Telefèric Barcelona is introducing two Scottsdale-exclusive experiences that elevate the brand’s signature hospitality. Together, these concepts transform both Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons into immersive celebrations.

For the first time, the restaurant will debut “Brunchelona,” a spirited daily brunch concept that captures the energy and indulgence of Barcelona’s social dining culture. The menu features standout dishes like Eggs Benedict served on toasted waffles with light hollandaise and optional upgrades such as Iberian ham or caviar, the Barcelona Chicken Sandwich with fried chicken and egg, and Steak & Eggs topped with vibrant mojo verde. On Sundays, Brunchelona begins with acoustic Flamenco sets for an inviting daytime experience and gradually builds into a vibrant lounge atmosphere with a live DJ.

The new location will also debut The Evolution of Sound on Saturday nights, a curated entertainment program designed to bridge traditional Spanish artistry with Scottsdale’s modern vibrancy. Authentic Flamenco performances set the tone with intricate footwork and emotional intensity, while a live guitarist blends classical Spanish techniques with contemporary rhythms, before transitioning into a high-energy collaboration with a live DJ and performers.

A TASTE OF SPAIN, AT HOME
Guests can continue the experience beyond the dining room through Telefèric Barcelona’s signature in restaurant Spanish market, Èl Merkat, which offers a curated selection of imported olive oils, specialty rices, conservas, spices and gourmet products sourced directly from Spain. Guests can also purchase signature at-home Paella Kits, arrange tapas catering, or book live paella experiences and drop-off catering for gatherings of any size. Designed to bring the flavors of Barcelona into guests’ homes, Èl Merkat allows diners to recreate their favorite dishes and extend the spirit of Spain long after their visit.
